So, what is what does it mean? Well, is literally means face, but that's not a very good way of translating it. Isad is a fundamental aspect of Indian culture. Moreover, a lot of Asiatic cultures and really similar concepts of isat can be found in many cultures even within Europe. But it's uniquely absent from our culture because the American culture is derived from an Anglo culture. Very civilized, very proper and very individualistic northern European culture. The simplest way to say it is that it's a shallow and materialistic conceptualization of honor.
From his video "Vivek Ramaswamy Is Everything Wrong About India" (23 Oct 2026; the title has since changed). Auto-captions. 'Isad' and 'isat' are the captions' spelling of izzat (Hindi and Urdu for honour or face). This is his opinion.
